Deficiency of potassium manifests itself when the plant does not open the stomata sufficiently for evaporation to cool down. This leads to chlorosis at the leaf margins, which develops into necrosis (death) at a later stage. An excess of potassium will inhibit the plant's development and subsequently darken it. An excess also hinders the uptake of other cations (Ca and Mg) which is caused by antagonistic effects.
Tips
* If the plants look weak, the leaves turn yellow from the outer part and the plant tissue looks soft because of a shortage of
potassium (K), apply only component K 20 in the crop, both root and leaf, to help the plants recover quickly
from a nutrient deficiency.
* When growing in a humid environment, double the dosage of K 20 to strengthen plant tissues. also increase
Ca 15 (Calcium).
