Product information “Canna Mono Magnesium MgO7% 1 liter”

Magnesium is an important component for photosynthesis. It is an essential atom in chlorophyll and also influences other pigments and physiological processes. This makes it an essential element in the development of the plant. CANNA Magnesium can be directly absorbed by the plant; the effects are therefore soon visible. It can be used as a fertilizer in case of magnesium deficiency and as an additional nutrient to stimulate growth and flowering.

Briefly about magnesium
Magnesium is an indispensable component for plants, humans and animals. In plants, magnesium is a building block in the green leaf pigment (chlorophyll) and is therefore essential for photosynthesis. Magnesium also plays an important role in various metabolic processes. Tap water also contains magnesium and, together with calcium, is responsible for the degree of hardness. Inorganic magnesium fertilizers are made from the same salts that are used to produce potassium fertilizers.

The symptoms of deficiency
If there is a magnesium deficiency, the chloroplasts (chlorophyll-containing cell organelles) of the middle-aged leaves (below the flowering tops) are broken open and the magnesium is transported to the young shoots. This then manifests itself as rusty-brown spots and/or vague, cloudy yellow spots (chlorosis) between the leaf veins. A slight magnesium deficiency has little effect on flowering, although the symptoms of magnesium deficiency can become worse during the flowering phase.

Chronology

During the first 3 to 4 weeks no symptoms are visible, the plant grows well, is dark green and looks healthy.

The deficiency symptoms become visible at the fourth to sixth week in the flowering phase. Small rusty-brown necrotic spots and/or cloudy chlorosis appear in the middle old leaves (below the flower tip). The color of the young leaves and the inflorescence are normal.

The size and quantity of rusty-brown spots spread over the whole leaf, increased chlorosis is clearly yellow.

The symptoms spread over the whole plant, the plant looks worn out.

In the event of a serious deficiency, even the youngest leaves become chlorotic and flower production declines.

Reasons for magnesium deficiency
Magnesium deficiency is more common than other deficiency symptoms. Magnesium deficiency in the root system can therefore occur due to a lack of this element, even with normal and higher levels. This is because the absorption is slowed down by all kinds of circumstances. These circumstances could be

A very wet, cold and/or acidic root climate.

High potassium, ammonium and/or calcium content (e.g. a lot of lime in tap water or calcareous clay soil) in relation to the magnesium content.

Limited root system and heavy plant load.

High EC value in the medium, reduced evaporation.

This mineral fertilizer contains 7% MgO and 14% SO3.

Dosage:
1-2 ml per 1 liter of water

Warning:
An excess of magnesium can lead to calcium deficiency.
