During the flowering phase, a plant is ready for pollination. The photosensory proteins within the plant determine the time of flowering. The plant then begins to produce flowers so that pollen can pollinate the female plant. This process costs the plant a lot of energy. To stimulate the plant during the flowering phase, it needs the right mix of nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus. This keeps the plant strong and healthy throughout the flowering phase.
Plants absorb important elements from the air and light, but also from the nutrients in the soil. The roots and leaves of a plant are the most important components for absorbing these elements. It is crucial that plants not only receive enough nutrients, but also in the appropriate doses. This is important to prevent nutrient deficiency or toxicity (when a plant absorbs too many nutrients) and to promote maximum growth and health.
